Laser spine surgery is a form of minimally invasive surgery that provides an alternative to traditional surgical procedures.
Laser spine surgery uses light beams, as opposed to surgical instruments, to make incisions during a procedure. This is less invasive and makes for a quicker recovery time in our patients.
IS LASER SPINE SURGERY RIGHT FOR ME?
Regular spinal surgery involves incisions made by scalpels or other instruments. A laser surgery eliminates the need for multiple incisions and makes recovery time quicker and less painful for the patient.
Laser spine surgery can help with treating a number of different conditions, including spinal and foraminal stenosis, sciatica, facet joint disease, bulging or herniated discs.
More often than not, a conservative approach to treating your symptoms is recommended first. If you experience chronic pain, or non-surgical treatments like medication or physical therapy have not provided you with relief, you might talk with your specialist about laser spine surgery.
AM I A CANDIDATE FOR LASER SPINE SURGERY?
All surgeries come with some kind of risk, but if you are suffering from chronic pain, weakness or numbness, and non-surgical treatments have not provided you with relief, you might want to look at treatment options like laser spine surgery.
You can contact us at Alexander Bone and Spine Institute for an appointment to discuss options to help with your condition.
